Silent Hill 2: How To Defeat Eddie

In the Silent Hill 2 remake, James will face off against a number of familiar opponents. While most of them are monsters, he'll also fight another man adventuring into Silent Hill named Eddie Dombrowski. Here's how to beat Eddie in Silent Hill 2.

Silent Hill 2: How To Beat Eddie

Before heading into your fight with Eddie, you'll want to make sure you have your Shotgun and Rifle in hand and loaded.

After the cutscene, Eddie will leave you in a room with the corpse and some Health Drinks. Pick them up and reload your guns if you haven't already to prepare for the fight ahead. When you're ready, enter the double doors to enter the meat freezer.

Eddie Boss Battle Phase 1

You're now in the meat locker with Eddie. Pieces of meat hang down from the ceiling; these can serve as shields if Eddie comes near you, and can help him avoid spotting you in the first place. If Eddie spots you, he'll shoot you, and this does a lot of damage - so you'll want to avoid him at all costs.

Try to keep an eye out for Eddie and listen for his movements, peeking out from behind the hanging meat to quickly shoot. For now, the Rifle is the best weapon to use, since you can shoot Eddie with it whether he's close or hiding in the shadows on the other side of the room.

Eddie Boss Battle Phase 2

Shoot Eddie until the second phase of the fight begins. He'll shoot something on the ceiling, causing the room to get extremely foggy with more icy cold air. This will make it a lot more difficult to see where Eddie's coming from, but continue to keep an eye out for him and shoot when possible. Be sure to continue dodging his shots, too, and quickly heal if you get hit. You'll still want to mostly use the Rifle here, potentially switching to the Shotgun if you're certain you can land a good shot.

Eddie Boss Battle Phase 3

Eventually you'll trigger the third and final phase of the fight. In this phase, the meat hanging from the ceiling moves around, so you'll need to be a lot more mindful when dodging Eddie and can't just stay in one place. He'll shoot you if you're in his line of sight, just like before, but it's even harder to see him. Keep moving and listen for his movements, trying to shoot him before he shoots you.

Once you've won the fight, a cutscene will begin and you'll be able to enter the next area.
