Professional Rocket League players Jack "Speed" Packwood-Clarke and Emil "fruity" Moselund have been released on 4th October 2021 from Team Liquid’s car ball roster. The 20 and 25-year-old respectively had been with the organisation since their debut in Rocket League Esports back in July 2020.
“Emil and Jack, we are forever grateful for the contributions you've made to Team Liquid and the sport overall. We wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavours”, Team Liquid announced on Twitter.
“Thanks for everything Team Liquid, enjoyed every moment with you guys! However, also looking forward to new adventures and opportunities within RLEsports!”, quote retweeted Fruity.
At the time of writing, Speed is yet to publicly comment on his release. The English pro has gone on record, however, saying Team Liquid was his “favourite” dream org.
Since the arrival of the duo to Rocket League Esports under the Team Liquid banner, the roster had mixed results in all tiers of competitions.
Managing to pull off top placements in multiple The Grid weeks, taking home a runner-up title for The Field Season 1, and participation in a multitude of European regionals still left the blue horses in no man’s land when it came to the leaderboards.
After finishing the RLCS X season in 16th place with only 820 circuit points amassed and 10 spots below World Championship qualification, Team Liquid needed a change to move forward in the scene.
Quickly parting ways with Italian legend Francesco "kuxir97" Cinquemani in October last year, Fruity and Speed were the last of Liquid’s star-studded debut roster.
Now, veteran Aldin "Ronaky" Hodzic and former World Champion-turned-coach Remco "Remkoe" den Boer will look for a duo to complete the roster ahead of their second campaign.
