Spanish organisation FC Barcelona is returning to Rocket League after releasing their previous roster back in mid-April.
Now, Barça has recruited their new squad for the upcoming RLCS 2021-22 season by picking up independent team White Demons on 27th September.
This means that Ivan "Dorito" Ruiz Jiménez, Cristian "crr" Fernandez, Samuel "Zamué" Cortés and coach Brandon "Braan" Porto Fernández will be representing the blue and garnet org effective immediately.
The all-Spanish roster will be looking to bring the Football Club’s esports brand to the top again after an underwhelming RLCS X season.
FC Barcelona released Nacho “Nachitow” Gimenez, Fredi “fredi” Lazarus and captain Ronald “Tahz” Oosting back in April 2021 following their season was brought to a halt after failing to qualify for the remaining regionals, major or championship tournaments.
The White Demons signing was first reported by Movistar eSports’ Carlos J. Diaz back in July of this year and finally has been made official almost three months later.
The org’s five-month absence made Barcelona miss several B-Tier and A-Tier competitions in the old continent. It is believed the gap between the reported signing and the official announcement has contractual obligations attached to it.
Now, the new Barcelona team will be looking to return prestige to the worldwide org as the RLCS 2021-22 season is right around the corner.
With a high-flying, young roster like the one Barça just picked up, it’s possible we see the rocketeer Culés in the upcoming Christmas LAN.
