There is a tonne of monsters in Resident Evil Village, and quite often, the best remedy is to blow them away with weapons. However, your basic guns won't cut it later on in the game, so to progress through the campaign (or the Mercenaries mode), you will need to upgrade your guns, throwing bucketloads of Lei at The Duke NPC. Here's what you need to know about upgrading your guns in Resident Evil Village.
How to upgrade guns in RE Village
Throughout your journey in the Old Town of Resident Evil Village, you will pick up a lot of Lei (and sell items to get more Lei), which is the game's primary currency.
Once you've found some new guns and Lei by killing Lycans and other monstrosities, you can head on over to The Duke's Emporium (travelling merchant NPC) to upgrade your guns in Resident Evil Village.

The following upgrades can be purchased for each weapon in Resident Evil Village:
- Power
- Rate of Fire
- Reload Speed
- Ammo Capacity/Magazine Size
While upgrading your guns is as simple as visiting Duke and screaming "shut up and take my Lei", there are some huge upgrade costs attached.

These guns vary in effectiveness and power but no matter which gun you are using, upgrading using Lei will help you increase its stats. As a tip, try to upgrade the weapons you most enjoy playing with, as Lei isn't all too easy to come by.
