While everyone would rather forget 2020, Pokémon has had a surprisingly great year in the face of a pandemic.
There’s been two expansions for Pokémon Sword and Shield, dozens of new Pokémon added which have significantly changed the meta, along with the launch of the Pokémon Players Cup.
The online tournament was largely created due to the cancellation of this year’s Pokemon World Championships in London, but it’s offered the chance for trainers around the world to showcase their skills across the video games and trading card game.
The second event of its kind concludes this weekend with the Pokémon Players Cup 2, so here’s what you need to know about the event.
When is the Pokémon Players Cup 2 Global finals?
The Pokémon Players Cup 2 global finals will span three days from Friday 11th December to Sunday 13th December.
The event is split between the Pokémon Video Game Championships (VGC) and Trading Card Game (TCG), with the best players from last weekend’s regional finals competing for prizes and glory.
The top 4 players in both the TCG and VGC tournaments will receive a Travel Award for a future international Pokémon tournament of their choosing.
