The Hisui region will be spotlighted in Pokémon GO during the latest in-game event, Hisuian Discoveries. In addition, Trainers will be treated to a special limited-time event, Ultra Unlock: Hisuian Discoveries Raid Day, where they can go face-to-face with the Hisuian Braviary as the Raid Boss.
Preparing for the incoming Raid Battle is the next step, as Trainers need to know when they can go up against the Hisuian Braviary. This guide will detail how to find and catch the Pokémon and the best counters to use against it in Pokémon GO.
How to get Hisuian Braviary in Pokémon GO
The Flying/Psychic-type Pokémon is crossing over from its Hisuian home in Pokémon Legends: Arceus to be available for a limited time in Pokémon GO. Trainers can add this pocket monster to their Pokédex during the Hisuian Discoveries Raid Day, available on 31st July 2022.
Trainers will have three hours to participate in Raids to stand a chance of acquiring the Pokémon. It’s possible that Trainers can catch as many Hiusian Braviaries as possible, but to do so, you’ll need to overcome it first as a Raid Boss, which requires having a strong Pokémon line-up.

It’s worth mentioning that Trainers may encounter the Shiny Hisuian Braviary during the Raid battles; however, its appearance is noticeably different from its Normal form. The Shiny Hisuian Braviary is defined by its black and grey feathers color, and the large brow area is blue in contrast to the purple color visible in its Normal form.
Best Hisuian Braviary Counters in Pokémon GO
As Trainers will be encountering either the Normal or Shiny form of the Hisuian Braviary in Pokémon GO, it’s essential to know which Pokémon to counter its attacks. Its dual type, Flying and Psychic, is most vulnerable to Dark, Electric, Ghost, Ice, and Rock-type Pokémon.
Preparing for a Raid Battle against Hisuian Braviary won’t be too difficult to prepare for as its weaknesses allow you to take it down quickly. Below, we’ve detailed the best Pokémon and their attacks to counter Hisuian Braviary in Pokémon GO:
- Mega Gengar: Lick or Shadow Claw; Shadow Ball
- Mega Manectric: Thunder Fang; Wild Charge
- Mega Aerodactyl: Rock Throw; Rock Slide
- Mega Houndoom: Snarl or Crunch; Foul Play or Dark Pulse
