It is no secret that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are two of the buggiest Pokémon games ever made. That isn't to say they aren't enjoyable by any means. In fact, these are also two of the best Pokémon games ever made when it comes to the overall quality of life, exciting content, and Pokémon design. It's just a shame that the gameplay experience is hampered by glitches and bugs.
Luckily, this is not 1996, and Pokémon games can be regularly updated! Just like with Pokémon Sword and Shield, Game Freak will be implementing several update patches to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to fix any issues that players might be having in-game. This article will cover everything you need to know about the next upcoming update for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet!
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Patch Notes
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are set to receive several updates over the course of their lifespan. It should be noted that Nintendo has acknowledged the issues with each of these games and is striving to make them play better. The company said it takes "feedback from players very seriously," and they are "working on improvements to the game."
You can check out the full patch notes history for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet below:
- Season 1 of Ranked Battles will kick off, allowing you to enjoy Ranked Battles through the Battle Stadium.
- Please check the in-game notice for more details about Ranked Battles Season 1.
- An issue has been fixed that caused the music to not play correctly during the battles with the Elite Four and the Top Champion in the Victory Road path.
- Other select bug fixes have been made.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - When Is The Next Patch?
It is difficult to predict when the next Pokémon Scarlet and Violet patch will drop as this is only the second mainline Pokémon game to receive these kinds of regular updates. Taking a look at Sword and Shield's patch notes history can give us an idea of what's in store for the future of Generation IX.
Sword and Shield Patch Notes History:
- Version 1.1: January 9, 2020
- Version 1.1.1: March 18, 2020
- Version1.2: June 17, 2020
- Version 1.2.1: July 8, 2020
- Version 1.3: October 23, 2020
- Version 1.3.1: December 2, 2020
- Version 1.3.2: May 12, 2021
As you can see, Pokémon Sword and Shield only received seven big updates in its lifetime, with the first being several months after its initial release. It seems like backlash from fans is what has caused Scarlet and Violet to receive an update about two weeks after its initial release. However, if we follow the timeline of Sword and Shield from here on out, we can expect a regular game update every 2-3 months.
