Finizen is exactly the kind of adorable dolphin-like Pokémon fans have been asking for, and the fact that its evolution is one of the most powerful creatures in the entire game is just a bonus. However, you may have noticed that as much as you level up your Finizen, it just won't evolve.

Finizen is another special evolution that requires a unique set of requirements to be met before it will evolve. How To Evolve Finizen Into Palafin In Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

You need to do two things to evolve Finizen into Palafin in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The first is to level up your Finizen until at least level 37. Finizen evolves into Palafin, starting from level 38. Once you have completed this step, you need to enter the Union Circle with at least one other player. It does not matter what version of the game your partner has, nor whether they host or join you. So long as you are in a Union Circle with another player, you can evolve Finizen. 

Once all these criteria have been met, Finizen evolves into Palafin, starting at level 38 in the Union Circle. You can use items such as a Rare Candy or EXP Candy or level it up via battle. Once it gains a single level, your Finizen evolves into Palafin; you may notice its form doesn't change aside from a heart on its stomach. This is because Finizen has a unique ability that only activates when it switches in and out of battle. 

By sending your Finizen into battle, having it leave the battlefield, and then sending it back into battle again, Finizen will have transformed into its hero form. In this form, Finizen's stats increase to a whopping base total of 650! The caveat for becoming such a powerhouse is the rather difficult switching method previously described, but access to moves like Flip Turn makes it a lot easier.
