The v0.187 patch, the Holiday Homestead update, also welcomes new content and features to celebrate this Winterlights season to have fun in the overworld amidst the snow or on their Housing Plot with new Game Board decor items.
New enhancements for the Modification Bench and decor items, Curtains have arrived to Palia, which Palians can anticipate getting their hands on; however, the latter also see a new Accomplishment, Room to Grow, which is a clue on how to get them. This draped-out guide explains the Room to Grow Accomplishment, how to complete it, and how to get the Curtain decor items in Palia.
How To Complete The Room To Grow Accomplishment In Palia?
As mentioned before, Palia's v0.187 patch, the Holiday Homestead update, added new decor items to decorate their homes and keep their indoor spaces warm and cozy for the Holidays. Probably one of the most requested decor items previously unavailable, which the Palian community has found creative alternatives to, Curtains are finally here for them to acquire.
Per the v0.187 patch notes, the developer has briefly summarized how these new decor items can be obtained, which is tied to completing a new in-game achievement. The Room to Grow Accomplishment is this new achievement added for Palians to meet their objective to complete and unlock the corresponding rewards, including Curtains.
There are four tiers of this Accomplishment which by completing them, they can unlock blueprints for the 16 Curtain styles and some Renown to help them increase the max Focus, Focus Bonus, and purchase Roofing, Wallpapers, and Writs to unlock more Housing Plots.
Below, we've detailed the Room to Grow Accomplishment tiers, objectives, and rewards Palians can earn by completing them in Palia:
- Room To Grow I: Constructed at least three rooms or Houses.
- Rewards: 30 Renown, the Makeshift Small and Large Curtains, and the Kilima Small and Large Drapes.
- Room To Grow II: Constructed at least five rooms or Houses.
- Rewards: 30 Renown, the Cozy Cafe Small and Large Curtains, and the Little Leaf Small and Large Valances.
- Room To Grow III: Constructed at least seven rooms or Houses.
- Rewards: 30 Renown, the Arched Small and Large Curtains, and the Bellflower Small and Large Drapes.
- Room To Grow IV: Constructed at least nine rooms or Houses.
- Rewards: 30 Renown, the Silver Leaf Small and Large Drapes, and the Velvet Luxe Small and Large Curtains
The easiest and straightforward way Palians can complete all four Room to Grow Accomplishment tiers is to have a Harvest House or Grand Harvest House and place eight Building Add-ons acquired from City Hall or through progression to have nine rooms or Houses placed on the plot. They can have any number of Small, Medium, and Large rooms attached to the Harvest House or Grand Harvest House, as well as other rooms, to meet the accomplishment objectives and earn the rewards.
How To Craft The Curtain Decor Items In Palia?
Once they've completed the Room to Grow Accomplishment tiers, they'll receive blueprints for 16 different Curtain decor items, small and large, to fit the windows they may have in their homes. These can also work on doorway arches; however, based on our playtest, these Curtains do not fit on windows with the Kilima Bay Windows unless they glitch the Curtains to fit or work on them.
With the blueprints acquired, they can head to the crafting Worktable and either find them under the "Decor" tab or use the Search feature to find them more efficiently by adding text in the bar. Each Curtain or Drape has various materials required from Fabric, Silk, crafted bars, and other forageables like Briar Daisies, Coral, Crystal Lake Lotus flowers, Dragon's Beard Peat, Emerald Carpet Moss, Fibers, and Spice Sprouts.
Do keep this in mind when crafting, especially if Palians require these resources for other crafting and cooking items, which, if they do run out, some are more accessible to forage and mine. Once they've crafted, they can place them over doorways and windows (except the Kilima Bay Windows) to enhance their indoor living spaces with color and style, especially when hosting their friends at their homes for cooking and baking parties or for displaying their homes for the Home Tours feature.
