Developer Singularity 6 has been relatively mum regarding details for the forthcoming Adventure Zone, The Elderwood, coming soon to their cozy MMO Palia. The Adventure Zone was first announced in a developer post in August 2024; at the time, they were still in development on this next in-game location.

It has been months since the last developer post, and until recently, they published a "mini" update coinciding with the next game update announcement. Palia's 0.188 update is officially confirmed, ushering in the Luna New Year celebrations, new in-game features, and an update on the Elderwood's estimated release.

The latest developer post from Singularity 6 was published to Palia's news site on 22nd January 2025 alongside the announcement of the game's first update for the year, v0.188, which is set to go live on 23rd January 2025 for PC and Nintendo Switch. The v0.188 update adds new decor sets, more decor tints, new Premium Store items, and the return of the Luna New Year: Maji Market event.

The update also adds a new loyalty program, the Zeki's Loyalty Club, which provides Palians with a new way to acquire its premium currency, Palia Coins, which will go live with the update as more details are to follow in the accompanying patch notes and do look out for our dedicated guide on this new in-game loyalty program soon. In the aforementioned developer post, they also immediately addressed the lack of transparency following The Elderwood's announcement last August, in which they agreed with player concerns that it "is too long."

"There have also been a number of instances where we showed items in trailers and other communications that have not actually shown up in the game - which is never our intent. We just wanted to specifically say that moving forward, we’re committed to preventing this from happening and communicating clearly if it does (ideally alongside releasing them!)."

Regarding The Elderwood, the developer stated that this next Adventure Zone "has been a significant focus for our team, and we've recently been having fun playing it internally." This is also partly the reason why previous updates saw a lack of "gameplay content," in which they explained that they've been "concentrating our effort on making Elderwood special" and are looking at a possible "Q2 release" with more information to be provided in the next few months.
