Every year the race begins to create the perfect MyPLAYER, and the best builds in NBA 2K24 are already starting to emerge. With so many attributes to consider, not to mention the impact of sheer height and wingspan, the NBA 2K24 builds system can be overwhelming out of the gate to even semi-experienced players.
The introduction of NBA 2K24 template builds also changed things up this year, as players have a whole new way to guarantee access to some of the game's top animations and moves early in MyCAREER. Before you begin the grind to 99 OVR, starting with one of the best builds in NBA 2K24 is crucial.
NBA 2K24 Best Builds for your MyPLAYER
After giving fans a jampacked set of storylines and quests last year, NBA 2K24 MyCAREER has significantly streamlined with more focus than ever on pure gameplay and how you can make your MyPLAYER excel. That all begins with having the right build.
NBA 2K24 builds on the surface aren't too different from the complex builds seen in NBA 2K23 and before, but changes like badge progression can make getting the right start even more necessary. Badge progression is directly linked to the way you play in each game this year, so you'll want to really focus on skills and badges you'll actually use.
Now, if you really want to build a monster of a player, you'll want a custom build. If you know which position you prefer but want some options to choose from, we've outlined the top five builds here at every position:
- Best Center Builds in NBA 2K24
- Best Shooting Guard Builds in NBA 2K24
- Best Point Guard Builds in NBA 2K24

How to max out a 99 OVR build in MyCAREER
One benefit of the new NBA 2K24 template builds is that all of them have the potential to be powered up to 99 OVR, but that's no easy task in MyCAREER. You'll need a significant amount of VC to power up all the needed attributes and push your NBA 2K24 ratings towards the sky.
However, you won't be able to hit 99 OVR right out of the gate even if you back the dumptruck up and unload a 700,000 VC bundle onto your account. You'll need to first get your MyPLAYER beefed up to 90 OVR, and then find Ronnie 2K to setup the Rebirth quest.
With Rebirth activated, you'll score a few rewards and most importantly gain the ability to take away that 90 OVR rating cap. Once this is completed, players should be able to max their MyPLAYER all the way to 99 OVR assuming your account is flush with VC.
