The launch trailer for the free-to-play (F2P) fighting game MultiVersus dropped, revealing two more fighters joining the growing character roster. The Matrix's Agent Smith and Friday the 13th antagonist Jason Voorhees were unveiled as the next playable characters alongside the confirmed Banana Guard and DC's The Joker, the latter of whom arrives at the game's launch.

While not much has been mentioned regarding Agent Smith and Jason Voorhees, the developer has finally provided information on how players can get Jason Voorhees in-game. This guide details how new and returning players can unlock the horror slasher icon Jason Voorhees in MultiVersus.

How To Unlock The Jason Voorhees Character In MultiVersus?

Developer Player First Games released the official launch trailer for their free-to-play (F2P) fighting game, MultiVersus, on 20th May 2024. The trailer showcased its " ever-expanding cast of iconic characters and legendary universes" that will be available again at launch and introduced new characters joining the fight.

Of the new characters in the launch trailer, the horror slasher icon Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise will be arriving as a playable character. In a recent post, the developer detailed the changes to the game's economy, the Battle Pass, and the rewards for how new and returning players can unlock the horror icon in-game.

Jason Voorhees can be unlocked as a playable character through the Battle Pass as a premium tier reward. Returning players will be able to unlock him as they can get the Season 1 Battle Pass for free by logging into the game by 11th June 2024.

New players can acquire Jason Voorhees by purchasing the Season 1 Battle Pass in-game before being able to unlock him. Additionally, once the Battle Pass concludes, they can get Jason Voorhees by purchasing him using the new replacement currency, Fighter currency, as the Character tokens have been discontinued.

Speaking of the revamped Battle Pass, the developer noted that its duration has been adjusted ahead of the game's launch on 28th May 2024. The Season 1 Battle Pass, which begins on the aforementioned date, will run for eight weeks, with the final Battle Pass tier being "repeatable," allowing players to " keep playing and earning rewards even if you reach the end of it early."

Based on our calculations, the next season's Battle Pass will likely start in late July or early August 2024 as the developer will refresh the Pass with new rewards, including more variants, ring outs, taunts, and currency. As such, they'll be able to earn enough of the game's premium currency, Gleamium, which helps them unlock the next season's Battle Pass or obtain more characters.
