There are tons of different areas in Madden 24 Franchise Mode that will need your attention, but scouting is a crucial one early on. If you hope to build your team via the NFL Draft, then you'll need to know how to hire and fire scouts.
While much of Madden 24 is similar to previous seasons, small changes in scouting and drafting over the last few years continue to tweak the experience. We'll break down how to build your scouting team and what to do if you suddenly can't fire scouts in Madden 24.
How to Hire & Fire Scouts in Madden 24
You'll be prompted to set your scouting up at the start of the Regular Season in Madden 24 Franchise Mode. Each team already has a team of five scouts in place, but you can freely fire them and hire replacements if you want to pursue differen positions.
Take a look at each region to know which positions look stronger in each area, and try to assign a quality scout to a region that has one of their expertise positions. You'll only be able to have one 3-Star Scout, one 2-Star Scout, and three 1-Star Scouts.
If you fire a 1-Star Scout, you'll only be able to hire a 1-Star Scout as a replacement. In Week 1, choose Hire and Assign Scouts from the Home menu in Franchise Mode. Follow the button prompts on the bottom of the screen to hire and fire as needed and get everyone in place.
Why can't I fire scouts in Madden 24?
If you're partway through a season and notice you want to make a change, popping into the Manage Scouts area of Franchise Mode can be confusing. All of the button prompts to hire and fire scouts in Madden 24 have disappeared.
This is actually by design and not another bug in need of a Madden 24 update. Due to the multi-step process of scouting and how scouting focuses are set during predetermined weeks throughout each season, you can't alter your scouting team after Week 1.
When you hire and fire scouts in Week 1, that will be your scouting staff for the entire season. Make sure you're checking your team needs and getting good scouts with the necessary position focus in place, because a poor setup in Week 1 could doom your next NFL Draft.
