The western release of Lost Ark has received its very first Legion Raid called Valtan as part of the May update, and it's an exciting development and challenge, to say the least. Legion Raids are difficult team-based challenges that require you to defeat a Legion Raid Boss, in this case, the Resurrected Lord of Destruction, Valtan. When defeated, your team will gain some rare and valuable rewards for your hardship.
If you're curious to know more about the Valtan Legion Raid then look no further as we have you covered with our Guide one the Valtan Legion Raid in Lost ark. Well, walk you through everything you need to know, from how to start the Legion Raid, what the Sidereal Skills are, and the rewards you can gain for defeating the Boss.
Lost Ark Valtan Legion Raid - How to start
Adventurers can compete in this raid after completing the quest "[Guide] Notice: Legion Raid". Once completed, visit the Lunar Knights NPC in Vern Castle to start the quest "Resurrected Lord of Destruction" which will tell you the story of Valtan.
Before doing this, however, there are prerequisites you must meet before challenging Valtan. The Legion Raid has an 8-player minimum requirement and requires all players to be at least level 1415 to attempt it at the normal difficulty and level 1445 for the hard difficulty.

The Legion Raid system also features what are called "gates", these are progression systems that act as checkpoints, of which there are two in the Valtan Legion Raid. These checkpoints not only allow you to try again for the gate as your starting point in case you get wiped out, but they also allow you to take a break from the Legion Raid without losing your progress or rewards.
Each gate also rewards you for unlocking to clearing it and allows you to vote on whether to move on to challenge the next boss, group of enemies, or Legion commander, guarding the next gate. Alternatively, you can vote to not continue, and resume the Legion Raid from that gate for a limited time; until the weekly reset.
Lost Ark Valtan Legion Raid - Sidereal Skills
The Legion Raid system also features a new mechanic known as Sidereal Skills. These are essentially NPCs that can be found along the way as you progress through the Legion Raid.

You can enlist their skills and special abilities mid-battle by filling a Sidereal Skill bar as you progress through the Legion Raid. Once the bar is full, the Legion Raid group leader can activate the skill and call on the aid of the Sidereal.
There are three Sidereals you can use in the Valtan Legion Raid so far:
Thirain - Completed Vanquisher
Thirain awakens the Vanquisher and slams it down with the power of light to create a massively damaging explosion. It has a Weak Point ability granted by Vanquisher’s holy abilities.
Wei - Awakened Dochul
Wei summons Dochul to perform 3 powerful attacks. The Awakened Dochul inflicts massive Stagger damage whenever he attacks.
Balthorr - Arcturus's Breath
Balthorr strikes the anvil with Earthen Strength. When he strikes the anvil, all team members within 14 meters of the anvil are enhanced for a short time with enchanted armor. The enchanted armor grants Push immunity, reduces the damage taken from the foes, and blocks some of the Legion Commander’s powerful skills.
Lost Ark Valtan Legion Raid - Rewards
As mentioned before, these Legion Raids are challenging and require a lot of time and skill to complete. In turn, however, they offer rare rewards, items, and more for the winning teams.
By defeating the Legion Raid, you will receive a new rarity for gear called "Relic" gear, which can only be crafted once you reach level 1445. This kind of gear can be crafted from the materials won in battle and the gear provides a host of benefits, from weapon bonuses, stat bonuses, and more engraving nodes on accessories.
Players will also be rewarded with custom bonus chests for sale at the final gate of the Legion Raid. Along with a loot auction similar to the Abyssal Dungeon or Abyss Raids for some bonus chests and loot.
