During 2021, many League of Legends players have been able to learn more about Viego, the Ruined King, both with his story reflected throughout the game's Universe, and with the launches of new champions related to him, being the case of Gwen and a couple more slated to be released in the coming months.
However, since his release a big threat has begun to spread in recent weeks through Runeterra, both with the arrival of the Reckoning Set in Teamfight Tactics, and with certain previews published for Legends of Runeterra.
Now, thanks to the data miners team from Surrender at 20, it has been discovered there is not much left for the Ruination to finally reach the Summoner's Rift, as a large number of files have been found, pointing to a new special themed event, which will bring a series of drastic changes to the game.
As you can see in the following images, the Summoner’s Rift will become a dark and dangerous place, thanks to the presence of the Black Mist around this mythical battlefield, giving it an ominous appearance similar to that of the Shadow Isles.

And if that wasn't enough, not only will the Rift suffer from these changes, but both the jungle camps, the Dragons and Baron Nashor, and even the base Shopkeepers will be corrupted by it, making them a bigger threat to everyone within each game.

In addition to all the textures and designs found within the PBE files, there have also been multiple sound effects of every Ultimate ability in the game, voice overs of some champions, and even a couple of files that refer to the “sentinels”, a group that fights against Viego.
All of these assets are expected to be used through an event dedicated to the Ruined King, and his quest to conquer Runeterra during patch 11.14, together with the first clues to a new champion, who will join Lucian and Senna in their battle against the Ruination.
