On 9th February, Riot Games announced a series of sanctions against players competing in Latin America's LLA - the highest level of League of Legends' competition in the region.
The punishments have come about after Riot Games examined the players' personal accounts, finding occurrences of unsportsmanlike conduct during their solo queue games.

The players of the following teams have been sanctioned:
- Rainbow7: Santiago "Xypherz" de León, US$ 500 fine.
- Kaos Latin Gamers: Bastián "IceBox" Almonacid and Nicolás "KreshtDoo" Díaz, US$500 fine and a two game suspension effective immediately.
On the side of R7, Xypherz has a history of erratic behaviour within teams and in the same league, an incident a couple of months ago where he refused to play with Azules Esports, a team that dropped out of the league early this year is one of the latest examples.
While from KLG, this team made its comeback after spending a year in the Chilean national league, after being relegated from the LLA at the end of 2019. Right now, the team is 0-4 in the regular season. These suspensions mean the team have an even tougher ask to get their first win on the board.

For now, it is unknown what actions KLG will take to cover the positions of its suspended players, due to the fact that they do not have substitutes for them. R7, on the other hand, may be on the market for a player that could Xypherz but for the moment these are just rumours.
