Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Fireplace Passage Solution

As players find theirselves navigating Angel Courtyard in the historic Castel Sant'Angelo, one of the first mysteries of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle turns the focus to a mysterious fireplace. With a few different notes that can be found by players, either before or after dealing with surrounding guards, that will give hints to the answer many will be seeking. Before you move on and meet with Antonio, be sure to solve the fireplace puzzle for The Bulls of Blood in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Bulls of Blood Guide

While navigating the path around several fascists, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle also adds in an early mystery where players can net some solid Adventure Points and cash. When looking at the map of Castel Sant'Angelo, players should spot two central office chambers (marked 1 and 2 on the map above). By carefully watching the paths that each fascist guard takes, players should be able to sneak their way past and into these areas.

However, there's also the option of just knocking every last one of them out. The easiest way to neutralize the fascists is with stealth takedowns that give them enough head trauma to conk out. Players can do this by attacking with a held weapon, ideally a club or hammer of some sort, while crouched behind an enemy. Be careful not to do this when others will see.

If a brute force method is preferred, it's pretty manageable. The first problem is the guard with a dog in the just left of center part of Angel Courtyard. Use a whip crack or your revolver to scare the dog away, in either case you're likely to alert the guards and end up in combat. Most weapons can survive a limited amount of strikes, so be quick to pick up clubs dropped by unconscious fascists to wail on a few more fascists.

Fireplace Passage Hint Location

When you're ready to head to the two offices marked on the map above, first head to the number one office on the bottom half of the map. There's an elaborate fireplace here, and Russo's Note can be found on the desk.

This note mentions needing "the janitor to clean 'the passage' next to the fireplace." While it can be easy to assume this might be connected to the fireplace in that room, it isn't. Instead, players need to head to the top part of the map to the number two office.

Fireplace Passage Puzzle Solution

Look on the desk here to find the Angel Courtyard Map. This hand-drawn map includes notes about a few different locations. It mentions a card featuring two bulls that can be found on the desk as well some money, and there's a circled spot on the map. If you compare that location to the full Castel Sant'Angelo Map at the beginning of this piece, you'll notice a secret path aligns with the circled location on this map.

Look to the right of the desk to find two paintings next to a conspicious piece of wall art. If you approach without something held in your hand, Indy can actually rotate both of these paintings. Interact and rotate both 180 degrees until the darker colored bull is on top.

This will finally trigger the passage door to open, and you can find a letter just inside that will officially complete The Bulls of Blood. You'll net 160 Adventure Points between the four items found and completing this mystery. Follow the unveiled passage up to spot a container that can be opened for some more extra money, and pull a lever to bypass the captain's office and guard gate, meaning the guard gate key isn't needed.

However, if possible, we do recommend still visiting the guard captain's office, which is located upstairs on the other side of the courtyard. You'll find bandages, extra money, a rifle, and Survival book "Lucky Hat I" which essentially gives you a second wind revive. You'll get more than enough Adventure Points from The Bulls of Blood mystery to unlock the bonus, and that could be critical as you encounter more challenging combat throughout Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
