House Flipper 2 is now available worldwide on PC, Xbox, and PS5, and that includes their post-launch Floor is Lava update. Yes, it's exactly what it sounds like. House Flipper 2 announced it with an April Fools' Day post, but the Floor is Lava update is very real. You won't find it on the main menu when you load up House Flipper 2, so we'll go over how to go full Floor is Lava in Sandbox Mode.
How to Play Floor is Lava in House Flipper 2
The new Floor is Lava update is contained within the Sandbox Mode in House Flipper 2. Any property you create, or modify, can have the Lava surface finish applied to the floor or any wall in that structure.
If you want to really crank things up, you can create an obstacle course by placing the gates seen below on that property. You need at least a start gate and a finish gate for the timers to function propertly when you're playing that location. While not required for the course to function, you can also add checkpoint gates which will be your new reset point if you fall in the lava mid-course.
If you want to participate in the House Flipper 2 Community Contest featuring Floor is Lava submissions, you can do so by creating a course fitting the "Floor is Lava" theme. Ensure that your submission has a start gate, a finish gate, and at least one checkpoint gate. Once you've prepared the submission, you'll have to upload that finished property to the mod.io website with at least three screenshots of the project and the "Floor is Lava" tag selected.
If you haven't used it before, you'll need to go through the process of linking a mod.io login to your corresponding console or Steam account. You can find a guide to that on mod.io at this link. The submission deadline for that contest is April 30, 2024 at 23:59 CEST, and you can find more details about the rules here.
