2024 was a turbulent year for the game development industry, which saw multiple studios closed down, including The Evil Within, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Hi-Fi Rush developer Tango Gameworks. The developer's parent company, ZeniMax Media, was bought by Microsoft in 2021, adding numerous award-winning studios to the Microsoft Gaming banner, like Arkane Studios (Dishonored, Prey), Bethesda Game Studios (The Elder Scrolls, Fallout), and id Software (DOOM, Quake), but Tango Gameworks subsequently closed down by Microsoft in June 2024.

But this wasn't over for the Hi-Fi Rush developer as South Korean publisher Krafton had acquired the studio in August, forming a partnership between the studio and their former publisher. The studio is looking forward to a promising 2025 as they announced a small yet significant rebranding to welcome the new year, which they revealed on social media.

Tango Gameworks posted to their official Japanese and English social media accounts on 1st January 2025, revealing the developer's minor rebranding in an official statement. The studio has confirmed "a new start" for the team as they have officially been "reborn" under a new studio name, Tango Gameworks Inc., following their acquisition by Krafton in August 2024, as revealed in their statement.

"Tango Gameworks studio has been reborn as Tango Gameworks Inc., proudly joining KRAFTON Inc. We're excited to continue crafting games that bring joy to players around the world," Tango's official rebranding statement read on social media.

The statement concluded with the developer thanking players and their fans for their "continued support" following its studio closure and recent acquisition as they look ahead into the new year with a name change and a "new journey" to embark on. The new year has just started, and this rebranding for Tango is an inspiring step forward, and as for what we can anticipate from them in 2025 and beyond is unknown as of writing, but the rebranding of Tango Gameworks has certainly fueled hopes for a Hi-Fi Rush sequel or a brand-new IP altogether.
