Genshin Impact 3.1 – How To Unlock Altar Of Mirages Domain

According to the Genshin Impact version 3.1 patch notes, three new domains are being added to the game: Garden of Endless Pillars, Red Desert Threshold, and Altar of Mirages. Based on the latter region's lore, many of the Desert People, who believed that the Scarlet King would return, had ventured into the desert seeking answers.

The Altar of Mirages is a location that the Eremites discovered in the hopes of finding the resurrected Scarlet King; however, many went missing within the domain. Here's how to unlock the Altar of Mirages domain and all the rewards available in Genshin Impact.

How To Unlock Genshin Impact's Altar Of Mirages Domain

The one-time domain is located within the Hypostyle Desert in the underground area of the Mausoleum of King Deshret. Travelers must meet several prerequisites before finding and unlocking the Altar Of Mirages domain in Genshin Impact. We've outlined the steps below.

First and foremost, Travelers must have completed the Golden Slumber World Questline, which can be acquired in Aaru Village.

Once unlocked, Travelers must progress through the questline until they've obtained a Scarlet Sand Slate from an Akademiya researcher, Tirzad. Here, they must increase its Special Clearance to control various devices and access areas unreachable to many.

Without the Scarlet Sand Slate, Travelers cannot complete the World Questline, "Old Notes and New Friends," which continues their explorations of the desert area. Travelers must then solve the Primal Torches puzzle during the questline to unlock the Khenemu Temple area and its subsequent Teleport Waypoint.

After locating the door to the Altar Of Mirages domain by traveling to the Khemenu Temple Teleport Waypoint, Travelers can move forward until reaching the large chamber space. Here, they must solve the Primal Torches puzzle and navigate to one of the torches to find a hidden passageway.

Travelers must then continue down the passageway until they reach another chamber space. Here, they must wrap around to the right side and interact with the panel to open a door. A large hole can be spotted on the floor, which they'll need to jump, drop or glide down into an open space where they can locate a glowing red door.

Next, Travelers must drop down to the domain's doorstep and interact with it to unlock the Altar Of Mirages domain. Once unlocked, it can be used as a Teleport Waypoint for easy access.

The Altar Of Mirages domain leads to the Behind the Illusory Curtain domain arena which Travelers are required to hold an Adventure Rank of 28 and higher in Genshin Impact.

Travelers can earn rewards after successfully clearing the domain. Fortunately, doing this doesn't involve any puzzles; instead, they must defeat the many Eremite enemies spawning in the arena.
