Genshin Impact 3.1 update will introduce new characters arriving in Teyvat and the return of familiar faces. Luckily for Travelers, there is a way for them to invite these characters to their party as they’ll be appearing in upcoming banners.
The Character Event Wish banners are the best way to obtain new characters by using Fates to Wish for them. We’ll look at all the characters appearing in Event Wish banners for Genshin Impact’s 3.1 update.
Genshin Impact 3.1 Character Banner Schedule
During the 3.1 Special Program Livestream, HoYoverse revealed the Character Event Wish banners for both phases for the upcoming version 3.1 update. Phase I will kick off with Cyno getting their respective banner and Venti receiving a banner rerun for the version 3.1 update.
It’s unclear when the banners will end, but we know it will likely start when the 3.1 update becomes available on 28th September 2022. Phase II of the update’s Character Event Wish banner can expect to feature Nilou and Albedo, whom the latter is receiving a banner rerun.

Candace will appear in the Phase I banner and, as such, is gaining a drop-rate boost for the duration of the banner. As we mentioned, it’s unclear when Phase II of the Character Event Wish banner will start and when it will conclude, but it’s estimated to be before the Genshin Impact 3.2 update.
Wishing for these characters requires them to use Fates on their respective banners, but Intertwined Fate is needed for both Character Event Wish and Epitome Invocation (weapon) banners. Travelers can purchase this specific Fate from Paimon’s Bargain shop with either Primongems, Starglitter, or Stardust.
Travelers won’t need to spend real-world money to purchase Fates; instead, they can exchange either of the currencies mentioned for Fates. Additionally, they can receive Primogems from the Redemption Codes revealed during the Genshin Impact 3.1 Special Program Livestream.
The developer has yet to announce the update’s Epitome Invocation banners despite revealing new weapons during the broadcast. The weapon banners will run simultaneously with the Character Event Wish banners, but likewise, we will endeavor to provide more updates once more reliable information is available.
