Forza Motorsport launched into Early Access with a few known technical issues many players are experiencing across all available platforms. However, a reoccurring problem some players experienced in Forza Horizon has emerged for PC players, preventing them from playing the game.
If you’ve experienced the issue where the content continues to be saved, resulting in the screen being stuck, you can learn more about this technical issue and what to do next. This guide looks to help players resolve the “Saving Content” stuck screen error and get back to racing in Forza Motorsport.
How To Fix The “Saving Content” Stuck Screen Error In Forza Motorsport?
This specific error has been one of the few reoccurring issues plaguing players of Forza Horizon 4 and 5 since it was first identified. More specifically, for Forza Motorsport, this error can be triggered in multiple ways in which game files were required to be saved, whether saving their tune setup, new livery design, or selecting a car to start a new series.
Whichever way it was triggered, players are met with a stuck screen that reads, “Saving content. Please don’t quit the game or turn off the device.” The developer confirms that this error can also be discovered on Xbox Series X|S consoles, as many are looking for answers.
This error has been identified in the Known Issues List as a General Gameplay bug when "Saving a custom upgrade/tune has a long load" for the game, so there hasn’t been a straightforward fix to resolve this technical problem. Nevertheless, this error was a known issue for the Horizon games and therefore, we can implement similar methods to fix the problem and get players back in-game.
While it’s clear that this problem stems from stability issues regarding syncing game data files with the cloud, there are two ways to temporarily fix it until the game officially launches or a hotfix update is released. If players encounter this issue, hitting a quick ALT + Tab flash or the Windows key may jumpstart the game and resume the current activity.
While some players noted that this fix didn’t work for their situation, the only other method is to exit the game and restart it, despite the screen advising players against it. While doing this may risk players losing their game files, there are instances where players didn’t lose their game files and can resume their gaming activities as usual, but do remember that the game saves automatically, so look out for the autosave icon when in-game.
Forza Motorsport will be available on 10th October 2023 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, Cloud Gaming, Windows PC, and Steam. Players who've pre-ordered the game will receive Early Access, which begins on 5th October 2023.
