Fortnite: How To Bring The Prism To Trace At The Apparatus

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 has introduced a new map area called the Wilds, where players can explore the jungle and discover its secrets. One of these secrets is a hidden challenge that involves bringing a Prism to an NPC named Trace at the Apparatus, a landmark east of Rumble Ruins.

This challenge is not listed on the quests tab, so some players may not be aware of it. However, completing this challenge will reward you with 20,000 XP, which can help you level up your Battle Pass and unlock new outfits and items.

How To Find And Collect The Prism In Fortnite

The first step in completing this challenge is to find and collect the Prism, a blue crystal that glows with purple light. The Prism is located on the ground floor of the Apparatus, a temple-like building east of Rumble Ruins. You can see the location of the Apparatus on the map below:

Where to find the Prism in Part 3 of the quest

In part three of this quest, the Prism can be found northeast of the Frenzy Field POI, near the southern ruins landmark. Here's an image showing the exact location of the Prism:

Once you land at the Apparatus, enter the building from the front door and look for the Prism on an altar in the middle of the room. You can see what the Prism looks like in the image below:

To collect the Prism, simply walk over to it and hold Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox, or E on PC. As soon as you collect the Prism, you will initiate the hidden challenge, and a quest notice will appear on your screen, telling you to bring the Prism to Trace at the Apparatus.

Where To Find Trace In Fortnite - NPC Location

The next step is to give the Prism to Trace, an NPC that can be found on the top floor of the Apparatus. To reach him, you need to climb up the staircase that goes around the building until you reach the roof. You can see what Trace looks like in the image below:

To give the Prism to Trace, simply talk to him and select the option “Give Prism.” He will thank you for bringing him the Prism and tell you that he needs it for his research. After you give him the Prism, you will complete the challenge and earn 20,000 XP.
