FaZe Clan's Fortnite coach tests positive for Coronavirus

Hugh "DestinyJesus" Gilmour, who coaches FaZe Clan's star-studded Fortnite roster has claimed that he has contracted Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In a Tweet posted on the 13 March, DestinyJesus made a short statement saying he "tested positive for Coronavirus".

He originally posted of feeling unwell on March 5 after returning back to his home in the Southeast of England from a trip to LA, where he was attending DreamHack Anaheim.

"What are the odds I have coronavirus?" He asked his followers adding: "Got back from LA where new cases were starting, slept for a day now am tired with headache, sore/closed throat, coughing and breathing weird and also high temp.[sic]"

Since then he has been frequently posting about his condition and started a vlog where he detailed his journey in self-quarantine.

The vlog, which is intercut with footage of Fortnite, sees DestinyJesus show off his computer, his three dogs and do a Q and A with his Twitter followers.

In the Q and A DestinyJesus claims that "he normally doesn't get flu because I get my vaccine" but that he had contracted, "swine flu in 2009" an illness that infected between 700 million and 1.4 billion people worldwide.

He says he is unsure when he contracted Coronavirus. After attending DreamHack Anaheim, he had a 10-day holiday in LA taking in Santa Monica, Hollywood and Long Beach but he feels that it was unlikely he got it in Anaheim because "no other Fortnite player has it."

He initially didn't feel ill on his return to England, but on his second day back he says he had "a bit of a fever".

After 7 days in self-quarantine, he says he's "going a bit mental."

"I haven't got to the shops. The average age of my village is 65 plus, it's a bunch of retired people. If I went outside I'd probably get arrested for breach against Geneva human rights because... killing old people."

Saying that instead of going out he has been "chilling at home... it's been pretty fun".

Hopefully, DestinyJesus makes a speedy recovery, he certainly seems to have the right attitude to the outbreak, staying inside and resting as much as he can. He has also tackled the situation with good humour. In the same thread, he mentioned having been diagnosed he had time for a meme - like a true Fortnite pro.

DestinyJesus has coached a whose who of Fortnite professionals including Fortnite World Cup winner Kyle "Bugha" Giesdorf, Benjy "benjyfishy" David Fish and Kyle "Mongraal" Jackson.

In total, 10 people have now died in the UK with the virus and between 5,000 and 10,000 are expected to be infected.
