El Chapulín Colorado in Fortnite: Release date, prices, skins, and more

One of the most iconic figures in Latin American pop culture is set to make his arrival to Fortnite in the next few days, after the reveal of a new skin dedicated to “El Chapulín Colorado”.

Thanks to a nostalgic trailer charged with references to the character created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños “Chespirito”, this superhero with a heart of gold will make his debut in the Epic Games battle royale, as part of a collaboration in tribute to the 51st anniversary of its creation.

"We are very excited about this collaboration, making this type of alliance is always enriching for the two parties involved, we like to see El Chapulín Colorado in video games and we are very happy to create new experiences and thus take him to other generations," said Roberto Gómez Fernández, President of Grupo Chespirito.

The arrival of El Chapulín Colorado to Fortnite will be accompanied by a bundle, which will include both his skin as well as his iconic and powerful Chipote Chillón as a pickaxe.

The bundle will also include a perfectly stylized back bling, decorated with some of the weapons this hero used in his series from the 1970s, and the ¡Que no panda el cúnico! emote.

In addition, players will have the chance to choose between ten different skin styles, with some of the most popular Fortnite characters dressed in Chapulín’s costume.

It’s worth mentioning three different sprays based on some of his phrases will also be available. These are expected to be redeemable through a series of limited-time missions, which will be revealed shortly.

While the official price for this content hasn’t been revealed, it’s highly likely the bundle will be released at a price of 2,000 V-Bucks, while the individual suits will be offered for 1,500 V-Bucks, each.

Who is El Chapulin Colorado?

Created in 1970, El Chapulín Colorado is one of the many characters that came out of the mind of Roberto Gómez Bolaños “Chespirito”, being a superhero who served as a parody for many of the famous comic book characters of that time, such as Superman or Spiderman.

Since the launch of its segments on television, as well as a series between 1973 and 1979, El Chapulín Colorado’s character has enjoyed great popularity both in Latin American countries and in other parts of the world, becoming one of the biggest figures of pop culture in recent years.

The figure of this superhero has managed to cross new borders, thanks to his appearance in clothing and fine art collections, cameos in series, comics and commercials, the current production of a live-action movie, and even a set of uniforms available in FIFA 20.

The Chapulín Colorado content set will be available in Fortnite on 1st November.
