FFXIV Patch 6.51: How To Unlock The Aloalo Island Dungeon

Final Fantasy XIV's newest patch notes have just dropped, and with the rollout of Patch 6.51, tons of new content is coming to the game. The update is not only bringing new items, new hairstyles, new mounts, and more, but also a Gold Saucer collaboration with Fall Guys! Additionally, a new dungeon will also be added to the game. The Aloalo dungeon will take players on a journey through the winding paths of Aloalo Island and also teases that a familiar face may also be making a cameo appearance.

How To Unlock The Aloalo Island Dungeon In FFXIV Patch 6.51

Players must first unlock the Aloalo Island Dungeon by heading to Old Sharlayan (X:12 Y:13.3) and accepting the quest "Stranger from Paradise" from Shallow Moor. Players must have also already completed the scenario quest "A Satrap's Duty" and have spoken with the NPC Osmon in Old Sharlayan (X:11.9 Y:13.3). Finally, players must also be a Disciple of War or Magic at level 90. 

Once these criteria have been met, it is possible to enter Aloalo Island via the V&C Dungeon Finder. Players can enter either alone or with a party of four. As with other Variant dungeons, special variant actions can be taken by the players. These include actions like Cure and Rampart, which should help offset the unique Job allowance that comes with Variant dungeons. With actions like these, Jobs can perform multiple roles, allowing DPS and healers to act as tanks, for example. 

Variant actions can be selected in the V&C Dungeon Finder window, and players may have up to two variant actions at a time. However, it is possible to change these at any time, even after entering the dungeon. 

Players must have an average item level of 605 or above to challenge this dungeon and will have their item level synced to 665. 

By completing dungeon runs, players can obtain currency, which can be exchanged. By speaking with Trisassant in Old Sharlayan (X:11.9 Y:13.3), players can exchange dungeon currency for various goods.
