Fall Guy’s Royal Fumble game mode is the last of the 3 final rounds, meaning that all players involved are fighting for the crown. Like Team Tail Tag, the aim of the game is to obtain and hold on to a tail, but the gimmick in Royal Fumble is that there’s only one tail to fight over.
To resist elimination and take the crown for themselves, players must chase down the tailed player alongside their competition and grab it from their body. Then, they simply need to outrun the clock, keeping the tail in their possession until the end of the round.
The easiest way to keep your tail safe is to always stay on the move. The middle of the stage contains a spinning platform that helps keep your options open, and stage gimmicks such as pendulums can help knock away players that get too close.

When it comes to catching the tail-thief, try utilising your fellow players’ movements to trap the Fall Guy with the tail in an area with no escape. They’ll be forced to run past one of you to attempt to break free, and that’s when you can catch them. Patience is key here, don’t simply chase the enemy with the same path that others are taking.
Quick Tips
- When you have the tail, always stay on the move
- Diving is a last-ditch effort. You’ll be faster remaining on two feet.
- Switch up your movement to keep enemies on their toes. The middle conveyor belt is perfect for remaining unpredictable.
Fall Guys is available now on PlayStation 4 and PC. PlayStation Plus members can download it for free this month.
