Now that Fall Guys has finally released, over 1.5 million players have entered the fight for first place in the wacky battle royale-style game. Playing a series of minigames with the aim to be the last jellybean standing at the end of it all, there’s a lot to learn if you want to be the best. Here’s how to win at Perfect Match.

How to win Perfect Match

A simple enough memory game, Perfect Match won’t necessarily appeal to those players who love Fall Guys for its games of skill. Instead, players will be using their short-term memory to remember exactly which platforms contain the fruit they need, in order to stay safe.

Each of the purple platforms will secretly be assigned a fruit, each round. During the round’s preparation phase, various platforms will be revealed to the participating players, forcing them to memorise their surroundings before picking the area they believe to contain that round’s designated fruit.

Thankfully, you’ll only need to survive 3 rounds to secure your place in the next game, but each round gets harder than the last, with more fruit in play and less safe platforms to stand on. Many players simply adopt the tactic of following the pack in this game, relying on other players to have got their decision correct. Unfortunately, this sometimes leads to an incorrectly-placed vote of confidence, and we’ve seen huge masses of Fall Guys sent into the void for being followers.

The best strategy in this game mode is to simply remember one platform of each fruit as it is revealed. There’s no need to know every surrounding square, just so long as you know where one of each picture is hiding. Then simply trust yourself, and get to that platform as soon as it’s revealed. Only if you absolutely don’t know where to stand, should you choose to follow the pack.

To better your chances as the timer gets shorter between rounds, place yourself in the middle of the stage. From here you’ve got a good view of all platforms, and you can get to anyone of them in sufficient time.

Quick Tips

• Keep to the middle of the stage, tilting your camera to see all surrounding platforms
• Memorise the location of one of each fruit, don’t worry about everything else
• Be a leader, not a follower… unless you absolutely don’t know the correct location
