The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring has been tackled in numerous ways by speedrunners and challenge enthusiasts since its release, with ever more complex and restrictive runs being developed. A prime example is the latest speedrun challenge introduced by renowned speedrunner and challenge creator Distortion2.

What adds to the excitement is that Distortion2 has set a $10,000 bounty for the first person to complete the challenge under its specific restrictions. Let’s take a closer look at this challenge and how you can attempt it yourself if you’re up for the test.

Distortion2 Offers $10,000 Bounty to Defeat All Elden Ring DLC Remembrance Bosses and Bayle Under Strict Conditions

For those unfamiliar, Distortion2 is a highly skilled and well-known speed and challenge runner, with a focus on a variety of games, including the Souls series like Elden Ring. To push the limits of the recent Elden Ring DLC, he has issued a challenge on his YouTube channel: defeat all the Remembrance bosses in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, including Bayle, while starting at level 1 and using only limited Scadutree levels and DLC weapons.

“This isn’t your typical speedrun,” says Distortion2. “I wanted to create something unique, showcasing more than just base game weapons. So, I’ve devised what I’m calling Rune Level 1 DLC%.” This challenge involves beginning the DLC at the base Rune level and defeating all the Remembrance bosses without any upgrades. While the route you take is flexible, the run promises to be exceptionally tough.

The deadline for the bounty is August 11th, so time is of the essence.
