After the franchise has returned following such a long absence, it's taking some players a bit of time to adjust to everything College Football 25 has to offer. While basics of passing and rushing might come easily to someone accustomed to football games, scoring a well-timed interception can be a bit more difficult. We'll go over exactly what you need to do to intercept the ball in College Football 25.

If you're looking to score a turnover to shift the tide of a game, snagging an interception can go a long way towards both earning you points and demoralizing the opposing offense. Once you've got a general grasp on the College Football 25 controls, it's good to start working on fine-tuning aspects of gameplay you're not quite as effective at.

Even if you're playing on one of the lower difficulty settings, it takes some skill and sometimes a bit of luck to intercept the ball in College Football 25. The first thing you need to do is get used to recognizing when an interception is an option. If you're not quite used to controlling the secondary early in a play, stick to your linemen until the quarterback goes for a throw.

The second you see that ball starting to head downfield, or even the moment their arm comes up to throw it if you aren't close enough to knock the ball loose, press B (on Xbox) or Circle (on PlayStation) to switch players. You'll often automatically swap to the one nearest where the ball is headed, but you can use the left stick to point in the direction of who you want to swap to.

Once you have control of a player looking to make an interception, press Y (on Xbox) or Triangle (on PlayStation) to go for the ball and attempt an interception. If you're in the right position and time the button press properly, you'll snatch it out of the air and have the chance to try and make that a pick six.

Be particularly careful with this in close games, as the ball does have a tendency to bounce if you fail to intercept it properly. You don't wanna accidentally tip the ball back into your opponent's hands when you could simply force the incompletion.

If you're struggling with this in a live game, try a full practice game or go to Mini Games. Among the many College Football 25 Mini Games to choose from, the best for practicing an interception would be Coverage Skeleton and DB Battle.
