Developer Techland is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its open-world survival horror series, Dying Light, by recalling its incredible achievements and milestones over the ten years. Over the past decade, over 45 million players have encountered the "slow-moving zombies" throughout the post-apocalyptic open world and its day and night system, giving rise to new challenging enemies who rule the night.

With a great emphasis on its advancing parkour movement and a brutal combat system, giving players a heightened sense of freedom and creativity in both combat and motion, the Dying Light series changed "the open world survival horror genre," which it continues to do across both games and its forthcoming release, Dying Light: The Beast. As such, Techland had prepared some anniversary celebrations for their undying "zombie slayers" to look forward to, which included discounts on both Dying Light games from their preferred platform storefront.

Techland announced some thrilling anniversary treats await Dying Light players in celebration of the series' 10th anniversary. The developer confirmed that Dying Light and Dying Light 2: Stay Human will receive free updates shortly, as both games will feature unique content in-game.

Event re-runs, new rewards, and new game adjustments and optimizations are planned for Dying Light, including visual imporvements, a remastered soundtrack with new and original music, and plenty more. Dying Light 2 will include more tweaks to the game's prologue, the co-op roguelike mode Tower Raid being a permanent gameplay feature, and plenty of rewards by completing bounties through the Pilgrim Outpost.

All players can claim a free reward in the form of a package for Dying Light from their preferred platform storefront, and more items will be available to acquire from the Pilgrims Outpost’s Armory. Additionally, players can get even more freebies from new Twitch Drops, and an anniversary track will be released on multiple music streaming platforms in the coming weeks.
