Frostivus is a popular winter event in Dota 2, typically released on or a few weeks before Christmas. Similarly to other limited-time seasonal events, like Diretide or New Bloom, the arrival of Frostivus is typically accompanied by custom game mode, special consumables, and cosmetics. Here's everything to know about Frostivus 2023 in Dota 2.

Update on 30 November 2023 - Frostivus will return to Dota 2 once again. The latest seasonal event should be released sometime in December.

Dota 2 Frostivus 2023 - Release Date

Valve confirmed that there will be a Frostivus Christmas event in Dota 2 this year. The last time players could participate in the seasonal festivities was in 2022, in which case, there have been six Frostivus events in Dota 2.

That said, the burning question is: What is Frostivus' release date in Dota 2? Fair question. It's reasonable to expect that Frostivus 2023 will start around 18 December (i.e., about 1 week before Christmas) and end within the first week of January.

But hark! What's that sound in the festive distance? No, that jingling of sleigh bells you hear isn't early onset tinnitus. It's the magical year-end event we call Frostivus — looming large on the December calendar, and arriving with a sack stuffed to bursting with new features, new cosmetics, and some surprises.

Dota 2 Frostivus 2023 - Custom Games

There have been various custom games introduced with the Frostivus celebrations in Dota 2, including Frosthaven (2018), Wraith Night (2013), and The Greeviling (2012). In 2017, Dota players could participate in random winter-themed mini-games. Unfortunately, there was no custom game mode in the 2019 Frostivus event.

On that note, there's no saying what Frostivus 2023 could entail; however, what is sure is that there will definitely be loads of rewards that Dota 2 players can earn. In some cases, Frostivus was released alongside a new Arcana skin.

Dota 2 Frostivus 2023 - Rewards

At the moment, we can only speculate or make inferences about the Frostivus 2023 rewards. In the past, players could accumulate Frostivus Points and Levels, contributing toward a kind of Battle Pass.

These could be earned by winning matches, with each level unlocking new items or rewards. With that said, here are a few things you can expect to earn (based on previous Frostivus events).

• Snowman Noses - Make a snowman.
• Festive Fireworks - Shoot fireworks into the air.

Reward Wheels

• Frostivus Reward Wheel - Similar to Rylai's Blessing, players can spin the wheel for a chance to unlock a random item.
