From the moment you wake up dazed, naked, and alone in Disco Elysium, you’ll come to realize that you’re clearly not a very good cop. A very good cop wouldn’t go on a drunken spree losing both their memory and their gun, would they? Whether you feel the need to redeem honor as a member of the RCM or not, you’ll definitely want to do some crisis control and get your gun back.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps needed to go about finding where your gun is, how to get it back, and where to find some scarce bullets for it too.

Who to Speak to About Finding Your Gun
You won’t immediately start with the task to locate your gun but can prompt the quest’s beginning by first reporting your badge missing and enduring the ensuing onslaught of mockery from your precinct crew. Once you’ve cleared that debacle, you can speak to Roy at the Pawnshop beside the water lock for a nudge in the right direction.
Regardless of whether you spoke to Roy or not, all roads to your gun will run through the Union Boss, Evrart Claire. It’s also worth keeping in mind that you won’t be able to start finding your gun properly until Day 3 when you have full access to all of Martinaise.
How to Find Your Gun
As mentioned, the only way to retrieve your gun is by speaking to Evrart Claire in the harbor, there’s no other way around this, so get ready to get on his good side - or at least pretend to.
Complete tasks for Evrart
Evrart knows he’s got you in a vice grip and will withhold information on the whereabouts of your gun until you complete two tasks for him, both of which we’ve covered extensively in our guide: Should You Help Evrart Claire? Be sure to take a look, either way, once you’re done with these tasks, Evrart will set up a meeting between you and the current owner of your gun,
Confront the Pigs
Claire will inform you of a meeting set up after 22:00 over in Land’s End on the boardwalk in West Martinaise. You’ll find the boardwalk between the Church and the Feld Building to the north, where you’ll meet The Pigs. The Pigs is a sadly mentally unwell woman who believes herself to be a member of the law, seemingly suffering from a type of dementia that makes her quite aggressive towards you.
You’ll need to navigate the conversation and a Formidable Hand/Eye Coordination skill check to retrieve your Villiers 9mm Pepperbox Pistol from her. Once acquired, you’ll notice it’s actually empty and that you’ll need to find some bullets for it to be of any use.
Where to Find Bullets in Disco Elysium
There are only two bullets to find in the entire game, both of which are easy enough to access:
-
The first is in the Fishing Shack you can rent for free from the Washerwoman, you’ll need some decent Perception to notice the section of floorboards that you’ll find the bullet hidden under.
-
The second and final bullet is in the Capeside apartment complex, behind a chained shut door. Use Kim’s chain cutters from his car to pass an Interfacing check and get the door open. You’ll find the bullet in a container at the bottom right of the apartment.
That just about does it for getting your gun back, if the nearby Feld building and its Shivers check piqued your interest, be sure to check out our guide on Where to Find Ruby to get access.
