Where is The Altar of Rites in Diablo 3 S28? Exact Location
First off, in the official patch notes, Blizzard almost makes it sound like the Altar of Rites in Diablo 3 Season 28 is located somewhere in the Festering Woods area, but as you can clearly see from the image above, it is not. The announcement reads:
For Season 28, Rites of Sanctuary, we’re traveling deep into the mysterious ruins of the Festering Woods. Amid a hunting expedition, citizens hailing from New Tristram stumbled across an ominous Altar carved from an archaic material bearing cryptic markings. Shaken to their core by the eldritch aroma of the monolith, they’ve enlisted the assistance of brave Nephalem, willing to investigate this sinister discovery that was once left to time - the Altar of Rites.
The Altar of Rites is located in New Tristram, the main town in Act 1 of Diablo 3. To be precise, you can find the Altar of Rites by heading down the path to the left of the main New Tristram hub, which bends north before you get to the Altar of Rites.
Diablo 3 Altar of Rites Uses & Rewards
We are sure that Nephalem will visit the Altar of Rites quite a lot in Diablo 3 Season 28 since using it will be one of the main focuses thanks to all the unique rewards players can acquire.
Once a Nephalem arrives at the Alter of Rites (via a Seasonal character) in Diablo 3 Season 28, they will be able to sacrifice materials in order to unlock Seals and Legendary Potion Powers for all their characters across the season. There are a total of 26 Seals and three Legendary Potion Powers, each with their own unique effects
An important note is that no matter in which order you unlock these Seals and Powers, with each unlock, the cost will increase.
