The Taken King expansion in Destiny 1 is appropriately credited as being the release that saved the game. It was no surprise after Bungie first began reprising the Destiny 1 Raid content in Destiny 2 that the King's Fall Raid would make its way to the game. In August of 2022, it did just that and brought a slew of updated encounters, new secrets, and of course, the reprised Touch of Malice Exotic Scout Rifle.
This is another Raid that has made its way into the Weekly Featured Raid and Dungeon Rotation, granting players a Pinnacle-level reward upon killing Oryx, The Taken King. This grants players the opportunity to grind encounters for the weapons, rolls, and armor that they want as much as they want that week. Don't worry about memorizing which encounters can give you what loot, we've done that for you. Let's take a look at how to get all of the weapons and armor in the King's Fall Raid.

Destiny 2 King's Fall Raid Overview
There are plenty of powerful weapons and gorgeous armor in the King's Fall Raid to make it worth a few runs, but the best part of it being a more recent addition to the game is that all of the King's Fall weapons can be crafted after earning their respective red-borders. The King's Fall aesthetic is well worth putting in time for the grind, too, but specific weapons like the Defiance of Yasmin Sniper Rifle or Qullim's Terminus Heavy Machine Gun make King's Fall a Raid to pay attention to.
On top of the Legendary rewards available, King's Fall does bring the fan-favorite Destiny 1 Exotic, Touch of Malice, into Destiny 2. This Exotic Scout Rifle grants players an increase in damage for the final round in the magazine and an endless supply of these bonus damage rounds at the expense of the player's health. As long as you can afford to be patient (or stand relatively still in a Healing Rift), you can continue to fire that buffed round until you get bored. This Exotic, like many other Raid Exotics, will only drop from defeating Oryx, but there are some Triumphs for the Raid that will grant you an increased drop chance

Opening the Gate Encounter Loot
The first encounter of the King's Fall Raid is a slow burn, just because there's really no way to speed things along. This encounter is typically used for talking about your day amongst your Raid team. Get through it and you have your only opportunity in the Raid to get your Class Item!

Doom of Chelchis (Void Scout Rifle) | Bond of the Wormlore (Class Item) |
Qullim’s Terminus (Stasis Machine Gun) | - |
Totems Encounter Loot
The Totems Encounter, much in the same way as the Gate encounter, just requires some patience. This can get out of hand if you're paying attention, though, so focus up so you can get your dream Qullim's Terminous role!
Weapons | Armor |
Doom of Chelchis (Void Scout Rifle) | Chasm of Yul (Chest Armor) |
Qullim’s Terminus (Stasis Machine Gun) | Path of Xol (Leg Armor) |
The Warpriest Encounter Loot
Warpriest is a famously-divisive encounter in Destiny 2's version of the King's Fall Raid, especially when attempting the Challenges. However, persevering through it does give you a chance to get an amazing Sniper Rifle in Defiance of Yasmin for the first time!
Weapons | Armor |
Defiance of Yasmin (Kinetic Sniper Rifle) | Chasm of Yul (Chest Armor) |
Smite of Merain (Kinetic Pulse Rifle) | Grasp of Eir (Gauntlet Armor) |
Golgoroth Encounter Loot
Golgy, as Destiny 1 players came to know him, has been changed up just enough to keep the fight interesting, rather than allowing players to cheese their way through it like we could back in the day. Golgy can drop some solid loot, and provides your first chance at landing the Helm for the King's Fall armor set!
Weapons | Armor |
Zaouli's Bane (Solar Hand Cannon) | Mouth of Ur (Helm Armor) |
Midha's Reckoning (Arc Fusion Rifle) | Path of Xol (Leg Armor) |

The Daughters of Oryx Encounter Loot
The Daughters can be a frustrating encounter. This one has definitely had the most frequent shifts in Meta as the easiest way to clear the room on Day One was to blast the sisters with Wardcliff Coil, but now, I couldn't even tell you what the optimal strategy is anymore. Just take them down so you can get your second chance at that beautiful Defiance of Yasmin!

Zaouli's Bane (Solar Hand Cannon) | Chasm of Yul (Chest Armor) |
Defiance of Yasmin (Kinetic Sniper Rifle) | Grasp of Eir (Gauntlet Armor) |
Smite of Merain (Kinetic Pulse Rifle) |

Oryx, The Taken King Encounter Loot
Congratulations, Guardian, you've made it to the final encounter and have the chance to get your Touch of Malice! Don't get too distracted in here, though. A simple missed step or a badly times death can make this encounter fall apart, so keep your wits about you and march on! All weapons can drop from this encounter, so we really only recommend grinding this one for the Extoic and not much else.

Bonus: King's Fall Raid Secret Hidden Chests
The King's Fall Raid has three secret chests hidden throughout. These chests can drop previously acquired weapons and armor as well as Raid Armor Mods which grant moderate benefits in the King's Fall Raid and can be slotted only into King's Fall Raid armor.
The first of these is found near the end of the Tomb Ship jumping puzzle, just as the final ship is about to cross the force field that requires players to stand on plates to deactivate. Before passing through the opening, jump off toward the left wall and you'll find a ramp that will take you up and into a doorway.
The second is in Golgoroth's Maze and requires that players stand on the plates in the image below (from Fallout Plays) in the order that they're numbered. If done correctly, you'll hear an ominous chime and receive the message "a chest appears" in the feed. Note that the fourth plate requires a bit of finesse and jumping prowess, so the more experienced player on the team should probably take this one.
The third and final hidden chest is in the Basilica (aka the Dick Wall). Pulling out your Ghost will reveal a path for you to follow once you've made your way into the room and are relatively close to the pillar in the middle of the Basilica. keep pulling out your Ghost and eventually, you'll make your way into a room near the top of the area with the chest inside.
That's it! That's everything you need to know about collecting all of the loot in the King's Fall Raid! For more on Destiny 2 and the most recent Dungeon, Ghosts of the Deep, make sure you check out the Destiny 2 Hub!
