Destiny 2 is expected to undergo an overhaul when The Witch Queen expansion releases on 22nd February. The Destiny Content Vault will make room for plenty of fan-favourite activities and locales, including The Tangled Shore and the entirety of the Forsaken campaign.
Some of the activities players will miss the most are definitely the exotic missions, such as Harbinger and Presage. The former will grant you access to the Hawkmoon hand cannon, while the latter will net you the coveted Dead Man's Tale (DMT) scout rifle.
Presage has been showered with praise since it was released almost a year ago in February 2021. The mission is shrouded in mystery and highly atmospheric, taking place in an abandoned ship that had contact with unknown entities filled with darkness.
Guardians are tasked with unravelling the puzzles of the maze-like frigate, culminating in an eerie final reveal and an intense boss fight, especially if you're playing solo or the Master version of Presage.
The ultimate reward is a powerful scout rifle, perhaps the best in the entire game, Dead Man's Tale. Similar to Hawkmoon, DMT is the only exotic gun that has random perks available to it, meaning that after every weekly reset, Guardians could run Presage for a chance to find their perfect DMT roll.
Sadly, as we mentioned, Presage will soon be retired and tossed into the Destiny Content Vault to make room for all the excitement The Witch Queen will bring. But fret not because you'll still be able to get your hands on the Dead Man's Tale scout rifle once The Witch Queen is released. How? Well, stick around to find out.
Where to get Dead Man's Tale after The Witch Queen
While Presage and the experience of uncovering its secrets won't be back, new players and veterans looking for a better Dead Man's Tale roll should relax knowing the gun will be alive and kicking come The Witch Queen.
The annoying part is that you'll have to pay a hefty price for it to be yours.
Where to buy Dead Man's Tale
Each Friday, the elusive vendor Xur will arrive in Destiny 2 with a few goodies to sell, including the Dead Man's Tale scout rifle.
Boasting a random perk each new week, Xur will offer the exotic weapon for the following cost:
- 1 Ascendant Shard
- 1 Exotic Cipher
- 125,000 Glimmer
- 200 Legendary Shards
If you have trouble getting your hands on Ascendant Shards, our guide should help your grind be a bit more bearable.
The Dead Man's Tale boasts an incredible perk: "Cranial Spike: Chaining precision hits grants bonus damage and quickens reload speed."
