Dead by Daylight's cross-progression is finally here, and you can link your accounts to not only get access to all of your content on all your platforms, but also get reimbursed for any duplicate DLCs. Here's how to link your Behaviour Interactive account to your console and PC game accounts in order to enable cross-progression.
How To Enable Dead by Daylight Cross-Progression
Enabling Dead by Daylight cross-progression requires a pretty similar process regardless of what console (or PC) you're playing on. You can add accounts from as many platforms as you like, and then be able to access all of your content, on all of them freely.
First, you'll want to make sure you have a Behaviour account - creating one of those allows you to enable cross-progression, and get any rewards that may be associated with having multiple accounts or games. For example, you'll also need a BHVR account if you want to get the special Hooked On You cosmetic, or the limited Meet Your Maker cosmetic for owning that game.
You can make a Behaviour account on the official BHVR website. You can also use this account with any other Behaviour games you might play, like Meet Your Maker or What The Fog, allowing you to access everything you need all in one place.
Next, you'll need to link any accounts that you want to use cross-progression with. To link an account on a platform, you'll need to have opened the game at least once on that platform. You can link Steam, Epic Games, Xbox, PlayStation, and even Switch, though Switch cross-progression features are a bit more limited. To link them, just press the 'Link' button and log into each account as directed.
Once you've got all of your accounts linked, you can simply toggle the switch that says "Enable cross-progression" and hit "Merge." You should then be able to access all of your content on all of your accounts (minus the Switch limitations).
You'll also get 4,500 free Iridescent Shards as compensation if you happen to have any duplicate DLCs - and that reward is per DLC, so it can really add up! (However, note that those Shards won't be distributed until October, per BHVR.) You'll also get a free Campfire Charm for syncing your accounts, making it even more worthwhile. Any content you purchase in the future (aside from platform exclusive items) will also be available on all of your accounts, including both characters and cosmetics.
Which Platforms Can Use Cross-Progression?
Pretty much all platforms can use cross-progresion in Dead by Daylight. Cross-progression is available on:
- Steam
- Epic Games Store
- Windows Store
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox One
- Xbox Series X|S
- Nintendo Switch
As we mentioned, though cross-progression is available on Switch, transfer options are limited and you won't have quite the same experience as on other consoles/devices. However, you can easily transfer your in-game earned currency and inventory even on the Switch.
If you don't see an item on another platform after syncing your accounts, it's possible that it's a platform-exclusive cosmetic and thus cannot be shared between platforms.
