PGL Antwerp Major format and CS:GO teams
There are a total of three stages to the PGL Antwerp Major 2022. Check out an explanation of the stages for those who don’t know how CS:GO Majors work, and the 24 teams competing.
Challenger Stage format:
- 16 Team Swiss System Format.
- Elimination and Advancement matches are Bo3
- All other matches are Bo1
- The Buchholz system & initial seeds are used to seed matches
Antwerp Major Challenger teams:

Antwerp Major Contenders teams:
- Outsiders
- Team Liquid
- Complexity
- 9z
- Spirit

The top eight proceed to The Legends Stage, while the bottom eight teams are eliminated from the PGL Antwerp Major 2022.
Legends stage format:
The top eight teams from the Challengers stage will join the Legends status teams in the Legends stage. The same format is used for this stage of the PGL Antwerp Major 2022.

- Copenhagen Flames
The top eight teams proceed to The Champions Stage, while the bottom eight teams are eliminated from the PGL Antwerp major 2022.
Champions Stage format:
The top eight teams from the Legends stage will compete in a single-elimination bracket. Seeding will be done using the final rankings from the Legends Stage. In this stage, all matches are best-of-three.
PGL Antwerp Major schedule - dates and times
Running from 9th to 22nd May 2022, the PGL Antwerp Major features multiple stages as noted in the teams and format outline above. These stages also have their own dates that CS:GO esports fans need to be aware of.
- Challenger stage schedule - 9th to 12th May.
- Legends stage schedule - 14th to 17th May.
- Champions stage schedule - 19th to 22nd May.
In terms of start times, at least for the Challengers stage, we know that each day matches will begin at 10:00 UTC and run until roughly 14:00 UTC or later.

The tournament will take place in Belgium, at the massive Antwerps Sportpaleis arena with a crowd for the Champions stage!
Teams will be competing for their share of the massive $1 million prize pool. The winner gets the lion's share at $500,000 and of course, etch their name into the CS:GO esports history books.
