In the history of Counter-Strike, the Slovakian AWPer, Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács, is widely considered one of the best players ever to grace the servers. He made his last appearance in 2022 with team Sampi, but his early career shines brightly, having lifted 17 LAN trophies between 2014 and 2019 with the likes of FaZe Clan, NAVI, and even Virtus.pro.
Now, we are excited to report that GuardiaN will return to Counter-Strike as a CS2 coach for a brand-new team. The team is being formed under the bookmaker BC.Game, which first announced on Monday, 24 June 2024.
GuardiaN joining as coach was announced on X recently, as BC.Game teased more announcements.
He’s a legend as a player, now our Coach! Thrilled to announce GuardiaN's return to competitive CS. With one of the most impressive careers in CS history, he's a game-changer for our team.
For those who don't know, Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács was named a top 20 player by HLTV.org for six years in a row, from 2013 to 2018, with his best placement being 2nd in 2015.
With the vast experience of GuardiaN, it will be interesting to see how the BC.Game team does. At the time of writing, only one player on the roster has been revealed: Guy "anarkez" Trachtman.
