The BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 in London at the OVO Arena Wembley in London delivered some fantastic Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports action in the opening matches. Despite FaZe Clan vs. SAW ending 2-0, the game was much closer than many expected.
FaZe Clan's Latvian AWPer, Helvijs "broky" Saukants, delivered two of my favorite moments. The first one happened right at the start of the match, in the opening round.
Helvijs "broky" Saukants picked up the dualies and just started clicking heads in the very first round of the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 against SAW. Yes, broky almost got an Ace with Dualies in the first round but got shut down at four kills by SAW.
The second highlight that I simply cannot forget is again from broky. In the 9th round on Ancient, FaZe Clan's AWPer was 0.42 seconds away from defusing the bomb! The first half of Ancient finished 10-2 in favor of SAW.
Ultimately, FaZe Clan did win Ancient after double-overtime. Would a successful defuse have made much of a difference? Possibly not, but it had me on the edge of my seat.
