Similar to the previous year, Activision is introducing the Lunar New Year event in COD Mobile Season 1 (2023) with a ton of new free content, including new events, modes, Battle Royale points of interest, and activities.

When Does Lunar New Year 2023 Start in COD Mobile

In COD Mobile, the Lunar New Year event typically starts a few days before the actual holiday and continues for several weeks. This year, the Lunar New Year 2023 event is expected to commence with Season 1: Reawakening on January 18, 2023. 

However, it's worth noting that the exact release date of the event hasn't been announced yet by Activision. Therefore, we'll update this article once we have official intel.

COD Mobile Lunar New Year 2023 - New Modes & Events

As is tradition, players can expect to see special in-game content, such as new weapons, characters, and skins, all decorated with traditional Lunar New Year themes. This time around, the developers are celebrating the eve with an updated version of Super Attack of the Undead that reflects the Season’s Lunar New Year theme and includes updated character models, new abilities for the infected and survivors, plus support for additional maps.

Alongside the new and updated modes, players can hop into the Lunar New Year–themed Nuketown – Year of the Rabbit Multiplayer map, set within the bounds of a metropolitan city. The map will feature aesthetics such as lanterns and banners representing the Year of the Rabbit.

Finally, players can also expect special sales on items and bundles in the in-game store. This is an excellent opportunity for players to save on items that they've been wanting to purchase, such as weapons, characters, and skins.

As always, players can participate in special challenges and earn rewards such as experience points, credits, and items, while the Lunar New Year 2023 event is underway in COD Mobile.

According to Activision, players can find the Atlas NPC located in the new Battle Royale points of interest and complete time-limited missions in exchange for Red Envelopes that contain the new seasonal currency. This seasonal currency can be earned in-game and then spent in a new marketplace to purchase exclusive items.

Additionally, keep your eyes peeled for the small rabbit-like robot found randomly around Isolated. You can attack it quickly to earn loot – the more damage you inflict, the greater your reward.
