While many have eagerly anticipated the first reveal of Civilization 7 gameplay, some of the game's key details may have been leaked ahead of their Gamescom showcase. One new report has potentially revealed the Civ 7 release date along with more specifics on pricing and editions. Nothing is official just yet, but it may only be hours until the accuracy of these details is confirmed during the Civilization 7 showcase.

All eyes are on Gamescom, and one of the biggest events on deck is the Civ 7 gameplay showcase set for 1:30pm PT / 4:30pm ET / 10:30pm CEST on August 20. The development team at Firaxis has promised a more than 20-minute deep dive into Civ 7 features with additional panels set for those attending in person.

However, a new report from a regular leaker and investigator for Dealabs Magazine states the Civ 7 release date is currently set for February 11, 2025. This would align with the 2025 release window given earlier, and it makes sense that a launch wouldn't be too far out considering the amount of detail planned for today's showcase.

The same report also states that Civ 7 will have a Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition, the latter of which would likely include some potential DLC since that became a core aspect of Civ 6's post-launch strategy. Pricing on Civ 7 will reportedly be $69.99 on PS5 and Xbox but just $59.99 on Nintendo Switch, and the Deluxe Edition will go up to $99.99 on PS5 and Xbox but just $89.99 on Switch.

While there's no mention of a PC release in this specific leak, that's likely due to the leaker's source. They replied to another user stating they "don't have any human source," and locating listings just before they go live is a regular cause of leaks. If editions are being announced today, that likely means Civilization 7 pre-orders will go live as well.

There's always a chance things could be different if this leak is incorrect, but players won't have to wait long for confirmation. The Civ 7 gameplay showcase is about five hours away, and everyone can watch live at this link.
