In 2020, the ancient strategy game, chess, saw a huge spike in popularity on Twitch. It became one of the most popular "new" games, with big streamers such as Pokimane, xQc, MrBeast and more jumping in. Now, popular esports analytical service, Esports Charts, has partnered up with the Play Magnus Group for online chess tournaments in the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour series.
Esports Charts and Play Magnus Group partnership
In a press release, Esports Charts and Play Magnus Group announced their partnership. This partnership with Esports Charts will provide the Play Magnus Group with "unique analytical services" and comprehensive metrics for the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour series.
For those who haven't been following the Meltware Champions Chess Tour series, it started back in November 2020. The Meltwater Champions Chess Tour will, for the first time in history, determine the best chess player in the world.

There are monthly tournaments taking place culminating in a final tournament to be held in September 2021.

Esports Charts will provide the Play Magnus group with regular viewership reports on each of the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour tournaments for Twitch, YouTube and more.
