There is perhaps no weapon more well-known throughout the Call of Duty franchise than the AK-47.
Featured in almost every title in one way or another, the AK is beloved by a wide majority of the community. With high damage and some gnarly vertical recoil, this iconic weapon has made a return in the series’ newest installment, Black Ops Cold War.

However, the AK is a little different this year. Instead of being a middle-of-the-pack assault rifle, it’s actually considered one of the best in its class. As such, players are craving a loadout that will help boost up the AK-47 and possibly overtake the XM4 as the consensus best AR.

Like in most other titles, the AK-47 still features a high damage output in Black Ops Cold War. You can kill an enemy in three to four shots up close and around five to six shots at long range.
This is in-line with other assault rifles but what separates the AK is its accuracy. There doesn’t seem to be as much recoil as in years past, which is great for fans of the weapon.
However, the gun does still kick a little, so the recommended loadout needs to feature some accuracy-boosting attachments along with a few damage and range kickers as well.
- Optic: Quickdot LED
- Muzzle: Muzzle Brake 7.62
- Barrel: 18.2” Paratrooper
- Underbarrel: Foregrip
- Body: Steady Aim Laser
- Stock: Sprint Pad
- Magazine: 40 Round Mag
- Handle: Quickdraw Handle
As you can see, we went with eight attachments using the Gunfighter Wildcard over the standard five attachments. In order to make the AK the best weapon it can be, you’re likely going to need to utilize all eight attachment slots.
Every category is boosted with this loadout. With the optic, Muzzle Brake, and Foregrip, your accuracy shouldn’t be too much of a problem even with the AK’s slight upward kick.

Your damage is also receiving an increase thanks to the 18.2” Paratrooper barrel. In terms of balance, we included some aggressive attachments, Sprint Pad and Quickdraw Handle, to help with close-quarters combat. Rounding everything out is the 40 Round Mag, which is almost necessary if you want to take down multiple enemies at once.
