Over the years, Call of Duty has become more customizable for players to show off their personalities. Players can change the color of their name and even use skins in the game as well.
One of the newer ways that players can show off their personalities in Modern Warefare 2 is through weapon tuning. But what exactly is weapon tuning, how do you unlock it, and what does it do exactly? Here, we go over these questions so you can see if weapon tuning is right for you.
How Do I Unlock Weapon Tuning In Modern Warfare 2?
Unlocking Weapon tuning is actually not too difficult of a task. In Modern Warfare 2, Activision has implemented a weapon leveling system for players. As players use a weapon repeatedly, they will gain experience and are able to unlock more attachments for their weapons.
Eventually, players will be able to unlock all the weapon attachments for that particular gun. To unlock weapon tuning, players must reach the max level for that weapon. That is how weapon tuning is unlocked. It is important to note that weapon tuning will only be unlocked for that particular weapon.
What Does Weapon Tuning Do In Modern Warfare 2?
As you might have guessed, weapon tuning allows you to make adjustments to your weapon. However, it is not really a weapon adjustment.
Weapon tuning is actually the ability to adjust weapon attachments for your max-level gun. For almost all weapons, you can adjust how they perform through weapon tuning. For example, an optic sight could be tuned for aim-down sight speed or eye placement. An under-barrel can be adjusted to have increased weapon smoothness.
Every attachment can be tuned in four different ways but on a slider. So if you want increased recoil steadiness for your barrel, you will have to sacrifice aim walking speed. For that same barrel, you can increase aim-down sight speed, but you will lose out on damage range.
It should be noted that these adjustments are pretty small changes. What will have the biggest impact on the weapon is actually changing out the attachment completely. Players should use tuning when they like an attachment for a gun but want to make a tiny adjustment to it so they can perform better.
