The arrival of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 marks the final season of the iconic battle royale, and while it may be the last of this iteration (with Warzone 2 coming soon), Activision isn't holding back. This season features a range of new content additions, including the new limited-time event called Operation: Last Call.
If you're interested in trying out this new game mode for yourself and want to know more about it before jumping in, then look no further. This guide will provide everything you need to know to get ready for the action of the new Operation: Last Call event in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5.
How to play Operation: Last Call in Warzone Season 5
Operation: Last Call follows the same rules as the Resurgence mode in recent Call of Duty game titles, dividing a maximum of 80 players into 20 teams of four. However, the way that players can choose how they want to play this mode makes Operation: Last Call unique.
With Heroes vs. Villains being the theme of this season, Operation: Last Call allows players to choose between representing heroes or villains, each with their own set of objectives to complete. The heroes must defend several bomb sites scattered throughout Caldera, while the villains must plant and destroy the targets.

Villains must deliver bombs to designated bomb sites to initiate a 60-second countdown during Operation: Last Call in Warzone Season 5. Meanwhile, the Heroes must reach these locations and defuse the bomb before the timer runs out.
Using Defuse Kits will give them more time to defuse the bomb. This event is similar to Search and Destroy for those familiar with multiplayer Call of Duty. The Defuse Kits can be found as ground loot after completing Contracts or purchased from specific Buy Stations.
Detonating or defusing bombs causes more to appear across the map. The first squad to plant or defuse ten bombs wins. But there is an added layer of terror to Operation: Last Call in Warzone Season 5. Throughout the game, bursts of lava will shoot across the map, with rocks tumbling down near Peak.
That being the case, players are incentivized to keep an eye on the Volcano Meter that appears on the screen, indicating the volcano's activity level.
Last but not least, the Operation: Last Call LTM will tie into the Heroes vs. Villains Community Event, and defusing or detonating bombs will earn you Hero or Villain tokens. So, don't forget to pick a side and earn rewards for your efforts.
