When it comes to Call of Duty, we can typically expect a new annual release. We have had a year with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and about that long with Call of Duty Warzone 2. Now, thanks to some leaks, we know that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is on the way. Knowing exactly what's next for the Call of Duty series is pretty exciting.
Although we don't have an official release date just yet, we are expecting the game to be launching later this year. It will likely not be until the end of the year, which is typical for Call of Duty, which usually releases around November. But with all of the legal proceedings happening with Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, will Modern Warfare 3 be coming to PlayStation? We discuss that possibility here.
Is Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Coming To PlayStation?
Microsoft is currently in the process of acquiring Activision. But there are legal proceedings where groups like PlayStation are trying to block that. The fear is that games like Call of Duty could become an Xbox exclusive and that the game series will not be coming to PlayStation anymore.
But would that affect Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3? The answer is no. For now, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will be coming to PlayStation. Sony and Microsoft have signed a 10-year deal which ensures that Call of Duty will still be arriving on PlayStation. The deal will likely include the upcoming Call of Duty 2023 release.
Will Call Of Duty Stop Coming To PlayStation?
Although it is almost guaranteed that Modern Warfare 3 will becoming to PlayStation, there is no guarantee about the future. While the 10-year agreement will keep Call of Duty on PlayStation for the near future, those agreements seem to be limited. Some have speculated that once the PlayStation 6 comes out, Call of Duty will stop launching on PlayStation. But once again, that might not be the case. It will be no doubt interesting to see how thing will change for the Call of Duty series beyond the next decade.
