After Black Ops Cold War's integration into Warzone there was really only two guns on everyone's lips -- the Mac-10 and DMR -- so powerful were they originally that they have now been nerfed twice.
Those changes have meant other guns have been able to get a look in once again, and it is in these circumstances that Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff has been experimenting with some old favourites to see what guns perform best in Warzone Season 1's meta.

In a recent YouTube upload, NICKMERCS took another look at the PKM LMG it's a gun he believes is "next up" for its time in the sun.
While he concedes the gun is slow-firing he believes that by pairing it with a Mac-10 you have the best of both worlds.
"The reason this is viable this season is because of the Mac-10," said Nick.
"The Mac-10, and the way that I build it, you run so fast, wherever you go, you have that Mac' out. But if you know you are getting into a long-range fight or a medium-range fight, you pull out the PKM. This thing is a laser, with no recoil and it hits heavy."
NICKMERCS' best PKM loadout for Warzone Season 1
(Picture: NICKMERCS)
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 26.9" Extended Barrel
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
- Underbarrel: Snatch Grip
Opting for the near-ubiquitous Monolithic Suppressor which, of course, reduces its sound print and also increases range, at a slight ADS speed increase.
The Extended Barrel improves recoil control while increasing bullet velocity and damage range. Accentuating its already impressive stats in these areas.
The Tac Laser and VLK 3.0x Optic are to help you with the medium to long-range engagements that this loadout is designed for.
The smaller Snatch Grip will help you control the recoil better without increasing its weight and thus mobility too much.
This gun and its attachments really do necessitate running it with an SMG so keep this in mind if you choose to jump into Verdansk with this.
