Digital Extremes, the developers of the popular free-to-play open-world game Warframe, has announced a brand new game called Soulframe.
Just like Warframe, players can enjoy Soulframe's open world for free. For Warframe veterans and brand new players, this new game will surely capture your interest.
Here's everything you need to know about Soulframe, from its type of game to its potential release date.
What is Soulframe?
Soulframe is an upcoming open-world MMO from Digital Extremes, the developers of Warframe.

- Fortnite v21.30 Update Patch Notes - Prime Shotgun, Summer Celebration
- Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak - Best Silkbind Attacks With High Damage
- Best Fara 83 Loadout In Warzone Season 4
The game was announced in a nearly six-minute cinematic trailer on 17th July during Tennocon.
The trailer shows a character in a fantasy world, meeting a variety of enormous beasts. The game will likely be rich in story and play somewhat like Warframe. Both games have player-versus-environment themes and combat.
Like most MMOs, including Digital Extremes' own Warframe, Soulframe will take place in a fictional world with many fantasy elements.
"Soulframe’s” world, as proposed, might be its most interesting character," Steve Sinclair, who worked on Warframe and will lead Soulframe's development, told The Washington Post.
"The game will focus on themes of nature, restoration and adventure as inspired by works like 'Princess Mononoke' and 'The NeverEnding Story' — specifically, the collision between industry and nature."
The trailer is age-restricted due to some slight NSFW themes, but you can view it directly on YouTube here.
When Will Soulframe Come Out?
According to a 16th July 2022 post on Twitter, the game is "now in early development." As a result, the studio has yet to announce a specific release date for Soulframe.
The announcement of Soulframe does not mean the end of Warframe; according to developers, Warframe will keep running and continue to receive regular updates. That said, some members of the Warframe creative and development team will switch to working on Soulframe.
In his interview with The Washington Post, Sinclair mentioned that Soulframe is not a sequel to Warframe but a "sister game" in a "mirror world."
