If you were a gaming kid growing up in the era of PlayStation 1 and 2, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was undoubtedly at least somehow a part of that childhood. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was one of the most popular PlayStation 1 games and definitely left a significant mark on that era. Reasons were both because skating was very popular in the nineties and because the games themselves were really great at the time, with innovative and engaging gameplay, and of course - the best soundtrack of the era.
Unfortunately for skateboarding fans, last Tony Hawk's we saw was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, which was released almost five years ago, back in December 2015. Sadly, the game was an utter disaster, with the average score of 35/100 on Metacritic. Graphics were inferior even to the games released on the PlayStation 2. The gameplay was terrible and boring, environments and missions simplistic and bland. Most importantly, the game was practically unplayable with numerous bugs.
But it looks like we might actually get a new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game this year. Jason Dill, professional skateboarder, out of the blue mentioned that we are going to get a new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game this year. He was a guest on a podcast when he said that. Did he accidentally leaked info that the new game is coming? Or is just his wild guessing? Or maybe he said it on purpose?
We can only speculate, but after almost five years, it would definitely be great to get a new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game, especially a next-gen one. Just to be a good game, of course.
